Mr nutcase research

Mr nutcase are a company that help you create your dream phone case, it's only £14.,95 so once you have your idea you can go on there website chose your device for your phone then they will send it to you. It's a great website that don't just help you create a phone case they also have hundreds of stylish other phone cases they have already designed so you can have a look at them before you create your own just incase they already have a phone case you want. You can have your family on them or a football team on it there is no limit for what you want.

Initial drawings

This is my initial drawings before i did my final drawing. these were just ideas to see if I liked them and if I would use them for my phone case.

There is a football, No.7 shirt, line up, 20 times, Sir Alex, Man-UTD, Mufc, GGMU and it's all about the club that you love. these are all related to Manchester United in different ways, for example the number 7 shirt has been worn by famous players who have become legends at the club. and the GGMU is played out before the game so every Manchester United knows it. and 20 times is famous with the United supporters as it represents how many times Manchester United have won the league the highest amount from all English clubs 

Evaluation - Mr nutcase

we were asked to create a design for a phone case, this could be anything from a video game to sports if it's football, Basketball or Tennis. I chose to create a Manchester United phone case as i found it better than doing something i have no interest or knowledge in. I used photoshop to create my final piece and also edit 6 so i could play around with the text, font, angles and colours. Before i did this i googled I love dust and how they created there work and what they did if they were similar to other peoples designs or are they unique. I took some of there unique ideas and used them for my design.
For my design i found it very enjoyable to create a final piece after sketching 6-10 ideas they were all of Manchester United so this would appeal to all Manchester United supporters which has a huge fanbase around the world so it has a great selling point. The reason why it will appeal is that it's unique as it has been angled slightly and has a great font which makes it stand out.

I have done sketches before this and i didn't like them so I improved on them by taking more time, adding more detail into them. So when it came to my final design it was improved as i compared them to my initial drawings. Before I did these initial drawings i did some experiments on paper to give myself some ideas on where i can improve on and what wasn't good about them. I scanned my initial drawings onto photoshop so i could see the improvements i have made, for my final design of my phone case i used photoshop again but this time i played around with the text, font and the size of the words to get the perfect phone case which would attract my target audience. the clients were people who use phones and if they want a new football phone case, like Manchester United fans then this is what you would search for, so i made my phone case unique so the clients would be interested in it.
I have a had a few problems with designing my phone case but i have handled them well and to my benefit, I wasn't sure how to make my phone case unique and that something someone would buy but I took some time to think about it and i came up with a good idea which hasn't been used before.

Overall i am very happy with the final design it took a while for me to come up with something unique as there are a lot of football phone cases out there so to come up with something new was hard. But i am very happy how it's turned out especially the text is very good and the way it's been angled.

This was my first try of getting the right logo for the phone case design, i used two different fonts to see if it would work but it wasn't the best one.

This was my second favourite edit i did but the last font i used wasn't what i wanted.

This was my third attempt at getting the perfect logo, i tried using bigger and bolder font for this logo as of that i wasn't to keen on it.

This was getting closer to my final piece, as i was using most the fonts i thought would work so after this there were only a few fonts left to try and mix with.

This edit was near the final piece which is below as the font was perfect but getting the position and angle was the harder part after this edit.   

Chosen edit 

This is my final design, It took me a while to get the best piece as there was so many different fonts/Angles you could use but after these 6 edits this is the best one.

this is the final design on the Mr Nutcase website, it looks very smart and unique compared to other Manchester United phone cases around.  

Digital art

Melissa Casey has used illustrator to design this piece of art, she has traced this to create pier from southsea she would have used pencil to trace it, the colour pallet has been simplified to remove any parts which was needed to delete to make it abstract. I don't really like it as it doesn't interest me as it's kinda dull to me not enough is going on in the picture to get my attention

Tim Marrs has used photoshop to design this piece of work, the image is all things in London, so he is inspired by what goes on in London to create this. he has used many photos to create a montage which looks funky and cool to get the audiences attention. Image selection would have been used to make the image smaller or angled. He also would crop the images to cut out a background which you may not want, and he would have pasted some images from the internet which he would have used for this. I like this image for a few different reasons, there is a lot going on so it looks good and that grabs my attention, also London is a place i like so he has a few pictures in the photo i like. Also there is a few colours in the image that makes it stand out to the audience.  

I like this abstract image as it looks funky and makes you look twice to see what is going on in this photo

This abstract art confuses your eyes so it makes you look another 2-3 times before you see what the photo is all about, the colours make the swirls look confusing at the first site.

this is a different type of abstract, to the other images iv'e used this has pure colours which are bright and mixed up so it confuses the eye at your first look. this is my favourite piece of abstract.

I love dust

i love dust were founded in 2003 south coast of England Portsmouth, they have been contacted by Nike to create a package for Wayne Rooneys 100th appearance for England, they have also created a poster for virgin media race to bolt. They have also designed the front cover for Time out New York.  i will chose three pieces of work they have created i like the most.

I have chose this as my first piece of work as it's original piece of work, this has inspired me as it looks simple but they have used the lion behind Wayne Rooney which gives a good affect to the image this has been done so you can see the three lions roaring from a different angle. 

 

This is the second design i have chose as it has gave me ideas for what i could do as it's got loads of different shapes and colours which make the image stand out, you don't see many images of a shoe so good and clear, there is a lot of colours which have a good mix so it looks professional.

This is the final design i have chose, mainly as it's unique as there isn't many posters all about New York which looks professional with the colours and the surroundings of the clouds and buildings. New York is a well known place worldwide so it has a affect on everyone who will view this poster.
